| | As an exercise in curiosity, I ran the CNN transcript of Bush's State of the Union Address through a piece of free software called TextSTAT. Here is a selection of the results. Look it over and draw your own conclusions about his priorities.
The words "economic" and "economy" were mentioned 23 times.
Some form of the word "terror" was spoken 20 times.
Iraq was mentioned 16 times.
The word "secure" or "security" was said 14 times.
The words "child" and "children" got 10 mentions.
The word "energy" was said eight times.
Likewise, the word "military" got eight mentions.
The word "science" was uttered seven times.
"Education" got only three mentions.
The word "environment" got a measly single mention. |
